Is that phony information bar alert, trying to sell you one of these useless products that are listed here?:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/roguenet.php

If your answer is "Yes" then keep on reading...

(DO NOT BUY THE PRODUCT THEY TRY TO SELL YOU! IT IS SCAM.)

A specialised removal tool is usually needed to remove the malware (Smitfraud or Vundo) that is causing your problem. Almost all "general purpose","all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs such as Adaware 2007, Norton, McAfee or Spybot S %26amp; D cannot remove Smitfraud or Vundo.

A good removal tool that specialises in removing these 2 types of infections is RogueRemover Free:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover...

After running RogueRemover, to clean-up any remaining infection traces, scan for trojans,

and spyware etc and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus. Press "Scan your computer now online and clean it for free!" on the left.

http://www.ewido.net/en/

Your problem has nothing to do with your new IE-7 or Vista (assuming that it was a legal, geniune upgrade). Your computer is badly infected with this adware.

Good luck.
1. Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox

Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs

2. Run the vundo and combo fix http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c...

3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c...

4. Run the anti spyware remove programs spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c... and superantispyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c... to get rid of the nasties

5. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt!

I dont want to erase my browsing history ,I want to erase the actual SEARCH ENGINE RESULTS, IE?

IE: i go to www.google.com and i enter my name in the search engine and then i hit "search" then search results pop up and infomation appears in the search regarding my name, how do i erase those off the internet?

I dont want to erase my browsing history ,I want to erase the actual SEARCH ENGINE RESULTS, IE?microsoft word download

You want to remove your name from search results in google?

Then you need to contact the people who maintain EACH of those websites, and have them edit the page to remove your name.

I dont want to erase my browsing history ,I want to erase the actual SEARCH ENGINE RESULTS, IE?internet explorer download internet explorer

You would have to click Ctrl+H and then locate each and every link regarding Google and delete each link one by one. It'd proabably just be easier to delete all history.
google answers it:

http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer...
Go to tools, internet options, delete cookies and files

if that doesnt work then try going to google, or whatever your trying to clear, press down and highlight the stuf you want to delete and try pressing delete
what i do is i double click the search box then it comes up a list of all the stuff you search on google and put my mouse over it and press delete (oor hold it in)
You can't delete someone elses site.

I wouldn't do a damn thing because it does not serve my nation's interests.
For the same reason that the Super Rich STars, play on people emotions claiming to donate a couple of million, it appeases their concience, knowing they all have anough money between them to eradicate poverty for good ..
contrary to popular opinion, the US cannot solve everybodys problems. This country isn't God. The problems are too complex for us to show up withe 'the magic bullet'. Iraq has taught us that.
Its all about money. I have a better question...Why do movie stars and athletes get paid $5 million dollars a second when this type of stuff is going on??? Wheres god at?
I wouldn't do squat, pull your own horrible country out of the toilet yourself, stop lookin' for handouts.
A dictatorship, or any form of centralized power, will have a negative effect on productivity.

On the concentrated power end, a dictatorship, people have no incentive to produce, as the folks in power will likely claim the products of their labor.

In a more collectivist society, especially where the old "from each... to each" framework is used, folks tend to downplay their ability and do everything they can to increase their perceived need.

In a free market society, which doesn't really exist anywhere, people are free to keep the product of their labor, and to trade however they like. The folks at Plymouth Colony learned this, though they only carried it out to the extent that they wouldn't starve, and kept many of the tyrannical policies in place for quite some time.

There won't be much progress in 3rd world nations until people are free to keep the product of their labor, with no fear of a petty tyrant sweeping through town to claim it all.

Naturally, these tyrants are well represented at the UN, while the people are occasionally paraded around on TV in order to keep Sally Struthers in Snacky Smores.
Because they have to try and use diplomatic methods first to try and get a change.

But I totally agree with you. Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that it is an African country and so no-one cares as much as if it was a European country? Look at all the time-wasting over Darfur.

I think it will have to get much worse before the international community does anything and people take notice.
Because world leaders have no heart, no passion and no sense. BUT they do keep the dogs of war at bay, and do the job better than the general public could. If that was me in the same situation, I'd get hold of them and shake the b**tards into action, but that's not what they want from civilised world leaders, do they? Even if it woud get more done!

Oh, and that person that said the US can't solve everything, who said we were talking about just the US? Next you'll say you won the 2nd World War singlehandedly, when your men came over here and stole our soldier's wives and then breezed in when England had already cleaned up.
It is sad about Zimbabwe. But so what. We need to take care of our own Country. The USA. I get tired of bleeding hearts that want to help the world. We do enough for other Countries. it is about time we take care of ours. If you are so concerned about it. Join the Peace Corps. Go over there and help them. As for no white farmers, they would be in danger. That is why they fled the Country.
Easy, when you consider that the EU is also a dictatorship. Have we been asked whether we want to stay in? Have we been asked about the constitution? are we asked if we want to be over run bu European immigrants? No and we never will be while our country provides most of the money to keep the criminals in Brussels in jobs. So none to the EU leaders have any qualms about meeting Mugabe, in fact I would think that they are there to ask him how to form a one party dictatorship for Europe.

By the way the summit is only of European leaders and nothing to do with the Yanks.

IE very slow to open.Opening IE might take 3 minutes. Might try 4/5 times, and after 4 or 5 min, all

I've run Webroot's Spy Sweeper. Also have Norton anti-virus, and have run Dell's troubleshooter, but to no avail. Been acting like this for months. For some time, if I went to MY COMPUTER and clicked on the C: drive, it would just never open. Looking at the task manager, the CPU would be at 100%, and nothing else would be running. Running XP Home Addition and have lots of RAM (640) and disk space.

IE very slow to open.Opening IE might take 3 minutes. Might try 4/5 times, and after 4 or 5 min, all are open.internet explorer update

There is a known conflict with Webroot Spysweeper and IE, if you haven't updated it the newest revision fixes this issue. I had the same problem and one of the update emails I got addressed this issue, I updated and the problem was gone.

UPDATE:

Don't listen to the lower post...Webroot Spysweeper is the industry leader in spyware protection. I have also used Spybot and yes it is a good product but free is free. Only Spysweeper can address Rootkits and eliminate them.

IE very slow to open.Opening IE might take 3 minutes. Might try 4/5 times, and after 4 or 5 min, all are open.web browser internet explorer

First thing... Uninstall Webroot and dell's trouble shooter. Go into services under admin tools and turn off Remote Registry. Go download Spybot S%26amp;D. Update it. Then reboot into safe mode. Run Spybot S%26amp;D. Reboot. Go download Firefox. NEVER USE IE AGAIN!
Something may be consuming your PC speed. RAM is not a lot (I have 2G), but it should be enough. If you set Norton AV to scan everything with the highest level of protection it really impacts the PC (nomatther which one).

Also too many services running at once can affect the computer, try disabling those you don't really use.

Search for errors and defrag your HD.

Remove temporary files, cookies, and the like.
also download http://www.ccleaner.com/ and run all scans to clean out your HDD for temp files. Also visit http://updates.microsoft.com/ %26amp; http://office.microsoft.com/ to update your windows to latest version.
i have a new computer, and it still made mine quicker on everything to defragment my hard drive. what this does is group all the files that work together in tight, neat orders on your hard drive. it can free up more space, but the important thing it does is arrange files in a manner to make your hard drive spend less time searching for what it needs. you can click 'start'(low left), 'control panel', 'permformance and maintenence', then click 'rearrange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster' then click 'analyze'... after it diagnoses the best way to arrange your files it will prompt you, then click 'defragment'. I'm telling you this will help speed up your computer, but there are things you may want to check beforehand. if there are alot of programs in your startup on your computer, it can lock it up to a standstill. you should be able to click 'start', hold your mouse on 'all programs' and see 'startup' in that long list. if you hold your mouse on that, you can see what loads automatically when your computer is first turned on. these are SHORTCUTS.. not the actual programs themselves, which are stored in other locations (like program files), you can delete all these shortcuts, and your computer will load these in a specific order, and as needed, instead of all of these at startup. also,if you havent checked for updates for your computer, its good to do so before defragmenting. and it doesnt hurt to just take 20 minutes and research. trial and error is the biggest teacher on here. type any question u have about doing something to you computer, and phrase it 5 different ways in yahoo searches. youre bound to get 5 different lists of links to research how u can do it. I have no doubt you can clean it up and make it faster. be patient, and if you get frustrated, leave it for awhile.stepping back from it can help u clear your mind to see it in a different perspective. have a great day,and i know you can handle it!! ;-) babyface p.s.- i see that someone also posted to update your webroot. though your updates may be set to come on automatically for windows, that would not update your webroot also. updating everything on your computer that are regular programs you use is something you should try to at least do every other week. good luck, and have fun with it girl!

The US has a way of calculating charitable tax donations of used clothing, appliances etc to ie Diab

Do we (Canadians) have something simular? ie if we were to donate children's toys, clothing there is a preset amount for each item that totals up and you use that dollar amount to submit for income tax credit.

Dunno. You'll have to ask that in the Canada section. This is the US section.
No. Canadian and US tax laws are different because our nations have different values.

If you are not using an item and want to get rid of it, you simply give it to someone who needs it. This is not a big deal for the person giving the item a way, but a big deal for the person receiving it. Not putting unwanted items into landfills makes people feel good about themselves. Why should anyone get a tax write-off for this?

As Canadians, we have a duty to help each other in any way we can. Giving items we don't want or need is one way that people with little or no money can help their fellow Canadians. A tax write-off for a Canadian acting like a Canadian? It's an absurd notion.

Virii, malware and spyware (especially spyware) will change your homepage for you. The first thing I would try to fix it is to install an anti-spyware utility. Ad-aware is pretty good. You can download it for free from www.lavasoft.com.
Restart your computer in safe mode (hit f8 at startup) once in safe mode try running your antispyware software.

possibly version conflict or a older version of your norton..
i assume you are running this on a single computer. if you install programs like that, you usually have to type in a code so it can only be installed once, on one computer. call them and explain your situation, and they should help you out.
When you uninstall Nortons, some registry keys get left behind and it stops you installing Nortons. Go to www.symantec.com and download and run their free removal tool. The you should be able to reinstall it without any problems.

Go to the control panel and choose the add/remove program. You can remove the toolbar there. If you want you can then go to the program files folder and delete the toolbar folder as well. Make sure you don't have internet explorer on when you decide to remove it.
Right click on the header on IE and uncheck Yahoo Toolbar. I did this and it hid this, don't know why it's not working for you.

Go to the control panel, add/remove programs and go down till you see the yahoo toolbar and uninstall.
I've tried to get rid of it in Add/Remove programs but with no luck--the message I got said that it couldn't dp it and then the toolbar entry disappeared but the darn toolbar is still there. I also tried to reinstall my Google toolbar, which I do like, and instead I got a second Yahoo toolbar!!

1. Navigate to this registry key by clicking the "+" signs:

2. Be sure the above key is selected, then right-click to open the right-click menu, then press "Delete".

I wrote a little greasemonkey script to interpret mailto: links as Yahoo! Mail links. You can download the script (yMailTo) at the link below, along with the extension for your appropriate browser.

Yes, everyone...Yahoo has a browser...not just a toolbar.

If you're a Yahoo DSL user, sign in on your account and go to the My Yahoo page. Mine has a "More" link in the upper right corner and inside that there's a link to "download software". The browser is on that page.

If you sign in on a certain account in IE, you will be signed in on that account when you load your Yahoo browser, and vice-versa. If you want to log in as two diffferent users, try another browser, like Mozilla Firefox.

Is there a free way to specifically block the "Install Macromedia Flash" ads from appearin

I would like to know how to stop the terribly annoying "Install Macromedia Flash" Ad from appearing in IE web pages. Can't find freeware etc. that will stop the ad. I have Widows ME and can't turn off active X control without affecting normal web page viewing.

Is there a free way to specifically block the "Install Macromedia Flash" ads from appearing in IE web pages?microsoft downloads

btw, installing flash player doesnt make any harm for ur PC.

You see this message because you do not have Flash Player on your computer, and you need it to see some content on a website. This message comes from your web browser, which alerts you whenever you try to go to a web site that has Flash content; it does not come from Macromedia.

To avoid seeing this message again, you can either install Flash Player, or you can change your browser settings to tell your browser that you don鈥檛 want to view Flash content.

Keep in mind that if you disable Flash content and do not install Flash Player, the next time you go to a website that requires Flash Player, you won't be able to view the website as the designer intended.

It is important to note that most of today鈥檚 web browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Netscape and Opera come with Flash Player already installed.

Now you might ask, If I install Flash Player, will I see lots of ads?

In addition to many other types of content on the web, some advertising does use Flash Player to display content. However, removing Flash will not normally reduce the number of ads you see, because advertisers often substitute non-Flash content for visitors that do not have Flash Player installed on their computers. Unless the advertisement features Macromedia products or services, the creation and placement of these advertisements is done by third-parties independent of Macromedia.

Is there a free way to specifically block the "Install Macromedia Flash" ads from appearing in IE web pages?microsoft word 2003 internet explorer

Why would you not want Macromedia Flash - a lot of web pages use it so without it installed you're missing web page content.

If you did have it installed IE wouldn't keep prompting you to install it.

In case you're worried about adware, spyware etc you don't need to be. Flash is an industry standard bit of kit that's effectively an extension to IE.
Im not sure, but I admire you not wanting the damn thing.

As has been said, a lot of people 'like' it because sites 'force' you to use it. Unfortunately this is a common misconception. The best sites imho do not use flash.

You could always try the following method

"SpywareBlaster: Tools %26gt; Flash Killer %26gt; this option only disables the use of Flash."

You need to have spywareblaster installed to use it however.

Its not really that important to use active-x components either btw ;O)

If you are experienced with computers then you will have to go into the registry - here is a site that explains it pretty well. (it's a forum)

This forum explains to you how to empty the Temp Internet Folder when Explorer is closed.

There are several folders that are inside the Temperary Internet Files Folder. If you are running 2000 or XP, then you will have to go into each user and empty ALL the files by hand. They are hard to find because they are under a hidden folder in each user.

First open Windows Explorer.... Tools --%26gt; Folder Options --%26gt; View Tab --%26gt; Show all files and Folders ......

Now go to your C: Drive and open "Documents and Settings" --%26gt; USER NAME --%26gt; Local Setting --%26gt; Temperary Internet Files

Do this for all users ..... and it wouldn't hurt to clear your "Temp" and your "History" folder either.

There is a program out that will clear your INDEX.dat files for your - it's called index.dat suite and can be found at http://www.webattack.com/get/indexdatsui...

How do you make sure that div layers are positioned in the same place in IE and Firefox?

I'm having some difficulties making my site cross-browser compatible ... the divs are a bit messed up in IE, and when i try to fix that, it messes it up in Firefox. Very frustrating.

Ahh yes, the unending cross-browser question. What you want to do is have your page detect which browser is being used to view your site by using javascript and then have it dynamically load the proper style sheet.

How do you make sure that div layers are positioned in the same place in IE and Firefox?windows 2000 internet explorer

Welcome to the world of supposed DOM compliant browsers.

Neither IE nor Firefox adhere to what is specified by the W3C, so good luck getting it all to work the same.
IE is the cause of many grey hairs with web designers. What looks good in Firefox and Opera, IE tears apart.

The best thing to do is design it so it looks good in Firefox, then make very small changes and keep reviewing it in both IE and Firefox until they both render the divs correctly.

I ran into the same problem before and there really is no quick fix, unless you want to just start the whole thing over from scratch.
Use fixed size tables with absolute dimensions (not relative dimensions) and place your page components how you would want them to appear. Different browsers will 99.9% of the time display absolute sized tables as you intend for them to apear.

There are other browsers out there..

Those are the next two popular ones, and they are quite prone to spyware too.

Please add to your details, the text of your error message. Gmail's supporting software may be blocked by your malware interceptors! Among the many browsers I have, those are three, and I have no problem running Gmail. I am on a dialup connection, so Gmail is a bit slow to load at times (as is Yahoo! mail) and sometimes Gmail detects itself loading slow and offers the plain HTML alternative and sometimes even gives an error "Unable to connect" with a "retry" button, which I always click and which always succeeds...

There is a problem with some of the older Yahoo Toolbars - sounds like this problem may be a symptom. Uninstall your Yahoo Toolbar from Add/Remove Programs and the problem will most likely go away.

If you like the toolbar and want to keep it around, upgrade to the latest version (click the yellow download button on http://toolbar.yahoo.com) and it will work fine.

Does the post of Lord Indra as the king of Swarg is permanent ie the same purush(Indra Bhagwan) is holding it?windows media center

No, It is not permanent.

Etymologically, the word Indra seems to have been derived from the Sanskrit verb 鈥榠nd鈥? meaning to be powerful, to tear enemies asunder. Some others opine it is derived from the root verb 鈥榠n鈥?which means to be able, strong energetic. Either way, Indra is the Man for all seasons.

Indra, the son of Kasyapa, who himself was the grandsom of Brahma, occupied the most eminent place in the early stages of Hinduism. Much later other Gods were either equated to him in strength and valour or placed above him in hierarchy. Indra seems to have been born strong. While there is no clear story on how Indra became the King of heavens, there are many stories on his rule and his bravery. In fact some scholars classify Indra as a translucent deity for he refuses to reveal his origin. He had two vehicles: Airavata, the famous elephant which was white in colour and Uccaisravas, the horse.

In the Rig veda, Indra is described as the 鈥榰pholder of men鈥? This epithet for him is said to occur nine times, thus establishing his supreme status. Of all the Rig vedic deities, Indra is the one most fully anthropomorphic. Indra has a relationship with almost every other God.

Vishnu visits Indra's palace in the form of a brahmin boy; Indra welcomes him in. Vishnu praises Indra's palace, casually adding that no former Indra had succeeded in building such a palace. At first, Indra is amused by the brahmin boy's claim to know of former Indras. But the amusement turns to horror as the boy tells about Indras ancestors, about the great cycles of creation and destruction, and even about the infinite number of worlds scattered through the void, each with its own Indra. The boy claims to have seen them all. During the boy's speech, a procession of ants had entered the hall. The boy saw the ants and laughed. Finally humbled, Indra asks the boy why he laughed. The boy reveals that the ants are all former Indras.

Another visitor enters the hall. He is Shiva, in the form of a hermit. On his chest lies a circular cluster of hairs, intact at the circumference but with a gap in the middle. Shiva reveals that each of these chest hairs corresponds to the life of one Indra. Each time a hair falls, one Indra dies and another replaces him.

No longer interested in wealth and honor, Indra rewards Vishvakarma and releases him from any further work on the palace. Indra himself decides to leave his life of luxury to become a hermit and seek wisdom. Horrified, Indra's wife Shachi asks the priest Brihaspati to change her husband's mind. He teaches Indra to see the virtues of both the spiritual life and the worldly life. Thus, at the end of the story, Indra learns how to pursue wisdom while still fulfilling his kingly duties.

Every Manvantara has a different Indra. The list is according to Vishnu Purana(Chapters 3.1 and 3.2):

Yajna (Avatar of Vishnu)

Vipaschit

Sushaanti

Shibi

Vibhu

Manojav

Purandar (the present Indra)

Bali

Adbhut

Shanti

Vish

Ritudhaama

Devaspati

Suchi

Does the post of Lord Indra as the king of Swarg is permanent ie the same purush(Indra Bhagwan) is holding it?nintendo ds browser internet explorer

All reside in your mind ; it is upto you to place them wherever you want
swarg and narak do not exists do not dream about them.
No.Indra is not a name of God but the name pof position of a god. After his tenure Indra has to leave his post .So too Brahma after Kalpaantam.A new Brahma will come.A new Indra will come.
May be True story Once INdira came to Earth to have SEX with rishipatni -Akalya-%26amp; caught red-handed by her husband-GAUTHAMA- Indira's body was cursed by Rishi to become 1000 YONIS %26amp; it happened .Later Narada helped him.

PRALAYA is not total destruction. Entire universe is TRANSFORMED incl. Sun%26amp; Moon. Only GOD is permanent.
Indra is the soul having the greatest stock of punya to his credit. When a soul having greater stock of punya than the one in throne arrives, the older one has to automatically make way for the new fellow. That is what Hindu Philosophy says. After one has enjoyed the fruits of Heaven and exhausted his stock of punya, he has to come back to this earth.

Dont expect all answers to be conveyed to you by the written word. Beyond a point you have to experience things in your soul in various levels of meditation. Bookish knowledge is nothing but a, b, c of philosophy and spiritualism. They only serve to prepare the ground for actual realisation at the feets of a Master. Better search for a Master. If you do not find one, pray fervently to God, with tears in your eyes. God will arrange as he has done for me and so many others. Bookish knowledge will not take you anywhere. Do something before your hour of departure from this body arrives. Because at that time you will have nothing but tears of regret and remorse in your eyes and heart. And you will have lost a great opportunity of knowing the ultimate and releasing yourself from the bondage of birth, death, and rebirth cycle. My best wishes.
Indra is the name given to God who is occupying the position in Indra Sabha in Amaravathi - The capital city of the Gods.

This is a position like the President Position in the Country.

The Indras are elected by the other gods by some voting system.

The most powerful person is assigned the position of Indra.

He then performs the duties as suited to Protect the Heaven, the Indra Sabha and the other Gods who are a part of the Indra Sabha.
You are in a hurry to ask questions as if the question is of any importance. This state is known of a hyper.

How to reply to your question when it is a fact that the Indra is not the personality but the name of a post. The king of heavens is known as Indra and the personality changes from time to time.

Please don't ask stupid questions.

Or you will continue asking? Why should you care for me!
Indhra, the king of Deva, is occupying the Indra loka based on the Tapas performed by him. It is not a fixed tenure. If somebody else does Tapas exceeding the merit of Indra, He will occupy the post. Hence Indra is also subject to the curses of Rishis. Also whenever any body practices intense tapas, Indra send all his deputies including apsaras, gandharvas, Urvasi and Tilottama to spoil the Tapas. Indra fears that if one performs greater Tapas than him, they will gain the Indra loka and become the king of Devas. When pralaya happens, everything is destroyed sans Maha Vishnu who lay as a child on the leave of peepal tree. Once pralaya subsides, the creation commences after many years of gap.
Vishnu promised King Bali the boon that he would become Indra during the next great Epoch, because he willingly gifted the universe back to Vishnu in his manifestation as Vamana the Dwarf. thus the "post" of Indra is not permanent, but is filled by successors over the ages that pass.
ARE YOU PLANNING TO TAKE OVER HIS KINGDOM IN SWARGA ? HOLD ON TILL OUR LAST DAY......MAY BE I WILL JOIN U TOO.....
Not permanent but transient functionality as per all versions of theological schools of Hinduism. The transcendental is only Brahman in modulus .
Indra is a post occupied by different souls
Indra is the leader for the devas. Devendra is the name of the post of leading the Devas and not the person. The Deva we find is the Lord of Water. U can find his Name in Bagavatham. He ruled the city of Amaravathi, not Swarga.

Any one who performs a hundred ashwamedha yaga, and after defeating the current Devendra is supposed to get the post next.

We can find that MahaBali Chakravarthi did 99 yagas but was stopped from doing the 100th.

Rishabadeva Did 100. But during the Last Havan of the 100th, He was stopped by Brahma.

IE and Firefox are both browsers which allow you to view web sites on the Internet. I prefer Firefox to IE7 and I got it at the site below.
IE 7 is just a newer version of IE, so there are no major differences, but some improvements. Because the IE is deeply integrated into Windows you should update if possible.

Has anyone recently switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox because of all the technical issues w

I'm just curious if I was the only one having all these "login" problems. I think today I'm just going to switch over all my favorites to Firefox and be done with IE.

Are there any webpages that don't work with Firefox?

The problems I was having were logging into game sites such as bigfish games and my daughter's neopets... a few others that I can't remember, oh the vidoes were a problem before.

Any info on the differences would be great. Thanks.

Oh yeah, and Firefox has the old Yahoo Toolbar, which is great, now my whole family can have their own toolbar back with their own login, rather than having to log in and out of Microsoft! Big Smile!!!

I am typing this answer using Firefox. I've been on Firefox for almost 2 years now, and will never go back to IE.

Firefox's old issues have been resolved, and it is approaching it's 3rd full release. It now offers the same range of compatibilities as IE without the lag and security issues. Plus, it is HIGHLY customizable with the add-ons ( I currently control WinAmp and MediaPlayer, get weather updates, email updates, can block entire ads or portions of webpages, change the way google and gmail look, and can download YouTube and other video site movies, all by using firefox add-ons).

Switched to firefox 6 months ago, after being an IE user for years, can't remember the last time I used IE now. The fox is great
I have been useing mozzilla firefox for 5 years now.The only site that i know that does not work with firefox is msn games.
I did so and it's great, mozzila firefox is the best.
firefox always rocks for many many reasons .... the main reason is its relatively free from security threats, speed and interference is also good... and yeah infact there are a few pages that cant be seen correctly in firefox, sometimes it need additional softwares to see the particular webpage but it happens rarely means there r very few pages that cant be seen correctly on firefox.... so u can use IE for that kinda pages and for rest just use firefox
Yes I have switched but just bcoz its faster. Mozzila Firefox allows all pages apart from if you have McAfee Siteadviser which it stops you from going on dangerous sites. I am typing this using Firefox.

What is wrong with a person who no matter what they do legally to support their family they fail?IE.

What is wrong with a person who no matter what they do legally to support their family they fail?ie.They can't hold onto a legitimate job, can't start their own legitimate business. What's wrong with a person who has the initiative and drive, to go back to College then has all sorts of obstacles that are not of their own doing , but they continue to persevere, however they still lack less than 20 hours from obtaining a Bachelor's degree ,and finally because they are not credit worthy they cannot get funds to continue their education, so in the end they can't complete the College Degree program. Yet , if they engage in criminal activity they seem to prosper beyond measure, and gain fiancially and economically, but as soon they try to use the money for a legitimate, positive purpose,or goal , they again fail. Are they just natural born criminals? or just spiritual and societal failures ie....LOSERS, and if so how can they stop being LOSERS? These people are a success at being Failures.

What is wrong with a person who no matter what they do legally to support their family they fail?IE.hold a jobmicrosoft live

I believe that God has a plan for each and everyone of us. What the individual plan is is up to that person to figure out. Maybe it is a test to seee if they will turn to being a criminal .I would suggest that if you are a believer pray alittle harder have friends and family pray for you never give up on the prayer and I feel that things will have to change. I also believe that we are getting very close to the last days before Christs return and the testing could become very hard and intense but I also believe that Christ is walking us through it all.

What is wrong with a person who no matter what they do legally to support their family they fail?IE.hold a jobmicrosoft internet explorer internet explorer

Maybe they have ADD
it's not the person, it's the system they are trying to thrive within
maybe they should stop thinking of criminal activity as being successful. given time and hard work they will be successful. i think there are a lot of other issues that need to be addressed before this is even looked at.
It's not about what happens to you in life, ITS HOW YOU DEAL WITH IT. Some of the most special, loving people I've had the pleasure of meeting screwed up everything, even though they HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD INTENTIONS! Does this make them any less considerate? As you stated ,"NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO" implies they've tried VERY hard to live up to expectations.

Obviously, the way you describe college, your heart is too busy trying to live up to others expectations that you aren't finding meaning in education. Use your down time to start a solid foundation in life :eat healthy, exercise, show the ones you love HOW MUCH YOU CARE, take a break from the un-ending monotony that has you in this position to begin with.

As far as illegal endeavors, if you look at Rockefeller or pretty much anyone of true wealth, they didn't exactly do it legally and they were extremely unhappy despite their wealth...

The word "loser" implies you see life as a game. Their are no winners and no losers, just people living. If you see your life as a means to and end you've already "lost". The meaning is the journey.
SEEK GOD'S PLAN for you. If you are not a believer, better believe now and everything will be easy or at least a HOPE is always there. Thanks.

Has anyone ever measured how much CO2 is locked away every year by landfill trash , ie newspapers?

It seems that this is the easiest way to take CO2 out of the atmosphere and can be sustained fairly easily with fast growing trees. I Realize this doesn't sound eco-friendly but just a thought, it seems we are already creating future hydrocarbon deposits, geologically speaking.

Since no one else has bothered to answer your question yet, I thought I would take a stab at it. Not that my information will be precise, but may be it will shed some light on how to quantify what would need to be done to show if this is feasible.

Based on the total coal, oil, natural gas, and any other carbon based fuel burned in a year, you must know the total amount in pounds and then know the percent of carbon in each type. Then, you could calculate the amount of carbon that would need to be buried. Trees, I believe are approx. 50% carbon, when completely dry, so approx. 2 pounds of dried wood per pound of carbon. The next problem is efficiently burying this material deep enough that the carbon is truly sequestered. Otherwise, the product will break down into CO2, methane, and other products that will escape and would negate the benefits. In fact, I would think that you would have to account for some of that happening.

One coal-fired plant that I live near burns 20,000 tons of coal A DAY. Every day. That's 40,000,000 pounds of coal a day. If the carbon content of the coal is 80%, then that is 32,000,000 pounds of carbon emitted as approximately 88,000,000 lbs of CO2. Assume a tree that would weigh 1,000 lbs when dried, it would take 2 of these trees to offset 1,000 lbs of carbon or approx. 64,000 trees per day to offset the carbon from this one plant.

Based on national numbers of 1026 million short tons of coal used in electricity production, that represents 2.05 trillion lbs of coal. Mulitply that by 80% to find carbon content gives 1.64 trillion pounds. Dividing that by the 1,000 pounds per tree and multiply by 2 because of the 50% carbon content of wood gives 1.64 billion trees per year or about 5 million trees per day.

Overall, while I can't say this is impossible, it does not seem to be the most cost effective way to perform this action. Remember, this number of trees only offsets the carbon released from burning coal in the production of electricity. There is another 88 million short tons (~8% more) coal used for other purposes as well as the millions of pounds of oil, gas, and natural gas burned every day. I would guess an additional 1- 2 million trees per day for natural gas burned for electricity and that doesn't count the oil used for gas. Assuming 20 million barrels a day of oil consumed in the US, 20*42*7 = 5.88 billion pounds of oil per day. Based on my rough calculations, that could add an additional 6 - 8 million trees for the oil. Therefore, the total number of trees required to balance the carbon from all these sources could be as high as 13-15 million trees per day.

Again, I am not saying it can't be done, but the magnitude of the solution may be not be the most economical way to remove carbon.

Vista default web browser set as Firefox. But my Yahoo mail still opens up in IE when going via mssg

Hi, I've configured Firefox as the default web browser in my new Vista Ultimate system. However, when I try to access Yahoo! mail from Yahoo! messenger or opens links from chat window they still open up in IE. I am unable to find any straight forward solution to this. I've checked the default settings in start menu and it shows Firefox as the default web programme.

Anyone has a clue as to what might be causing this? My Laptop is just a day old so I haven't used it extensively yet to know if this error occurs across other locations.

Thanks in advance for the help! :-)

Unfortunately as MSN Messenger is Microsoft's program, they want you to use their web browser, and so ignore the defaults. I don't know of any way around it directly, but you could try something like Tillian [1] or Pidgin [2] which allows you to log into MSN Messenger and other Instant Messaging accounts, all through one program, and will use your default browser.

Why does my website appear mis-aligned and formatted wrong in IE?

I know that the answer is that IE is never very up-to-par with the latest code, but I'm using CSS and all, with %26lt;div%26gt;'s but it just doesn't come out right in IE5, IE6, or IE7. Works PERFECT in Firefox (Win+Mac) and Opera.

The sidebar that should be on the right in the blank-white space seems to be at the bottom, below the left sidebar, on the page. Not only that but the entire page is left-aligned when it was built for center-alignment. Based on source code, and comparison between IE and Firefox, can anyone tell me why this doesn't work??

Would appreciate it very much!

Thank you!

Why does my website appear mis-aligned and formatted wrong in IE?microsoft powerpoint

Part of the problem is that your DOCTYPE declaration is XHTML 1.0 Transitional, and then you immediately use a %26lt;CENTER%26gt; tag, which has two things wrong with it: 1) XHTML doesn't allow capitalized tags; all markup must be lowercase. 2) The center tag is deprecated in XHTML. Using deprecated tags sends your browser into "quirks mode", which makes its rendering sort of unpredictable. Try changing your DOCTYPE declaration to HTML 4.01 Transitional, or, if you want to use XHTML, revise your markup and use CSS to center elements. That would be the best way to have cross-browser compatibility.

Why does my website appear mis-aligned and formatted wrong in IE?windows xp sp2 internet explorer

its because ie is made by microsoft and and microsoft makes horribly buggy software
IE is in use by about 45% of the population all over the world, no.1 is firefox. There is always a problem when programming in CSS or Javascript. U'll need to check www.w3schools.com to find out which properties work for which browser.

You cannot ignore any of these two browsers so u'll need to be able to write cross browser scripts or CSSs.
Remember that, if you're using "width" measurements in your css, IE handles the width as if it were the stuff *inside* the margin and the others handle it as if it were the stuff *including* the margin! Also, IE handles margins for floated items differently, diddling the "gutter". Sometimes your side-by-side divs will "slide down" underneath each other even though you think you've measured them appropriately for the available space! It's a real groaner!

As stated above, you have to remember that (1) you'll have to write for MOST users, who are IE users, then adjust for the lucky few rest of us who are Firefox/Opera/other users...and (2) use various "hacks" and other methods to make the adjustments.

There are lots of METHODS that DO NOT require "hacking" - they are just plain ol' good straight standards-careful coding (http://www.alistapart.com has classic examples). If you ABSOLUTELY NEED "hacks" see the book cited.

Vista was released before it was ready for Prime Time.

There are many things that don't quite work very well wiith Vista just yet.

It might take a few months but I'm sure Microsoft will fix things soon.

As with every newly released Windows Operating System, you should always wait for the service pack to be released.

-Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

-War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy

-Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

-Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

-The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux

-Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

-Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (or any of hers)

-A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (and others of his)

-The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer

-Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes

-Some of the works of William Shakespeare like Hamlet and Othello and others

There are so many more that I could add, but each of the classics would include some things that are good for the mind in one way or another. They will make you think, improve your language skills and vocabulary and give you a view of other times and customs.

I hope this helps.

Dreamweaver Webdesign: How do you format words, images, tables, top banner to be the same with IE an

We're working on a website and it looks great in dreamweaver, but when we upload it to the server it looks so different and it looks very different in Internet Explorer but closer to normal in Firefox. I'm quite frustrated because we're working hard on this site and then when it's uploaded the words are pushed over a bit, the top banner isn't fitting to the table size as it shows in dreamweaver, some of the images are pushed over and not lined up properly as they are when working in dreamweaver (CSS isn't even showing up - maybe we have to set the tag to the "cell" rather than "any")

Do you have to "set" things somehow to not move or change at all from what you see in Dreamweaver to when it's viewed on IE or Firefox. I just don't understand why it's all over the place on the browsers.

Unfortunately, you have run into the bane of most web designers. Firefox tends to display, parse and interpret html pages differently than Internet Explorer and vice versa. Dreamweaver also could be causing some of the issues. My best advice is to publish locally and then preview locally through both Firefox and IE. You might also try using a third party web development kit as well so you can tweak some of the issues. There is some freeware out there like WYSIWYG Web Editor and a few others that are closer to "What You See Is What You Get". You can also code to the browser, but the KISS principle applies most of the time.

I would think that if it is a matter of placing stuff on the page... you should set each cell to the properties you would like to have and not let the mail or top table to rule...
